This class for moms and their 3-6 year olds will help moms learn how to engage their pre-K learners in and beyond foundational academic content. Mommy & Me class time will forge foundational thinking tools in little learners through shared problem-solving activities, social stories, identification of emotions, and focus-building activities, while helping children acquire new content and vocabulary as their moms learn how to best support the growth of their little ones as learners.
One parent or guardian must participate with the child in order for the child to participate in this class.
MINDCAP requires at least 10 students to hold this class. If we don't reach that number, we will have to cancel the class. MINDCAP services normally cost $100/hr.

What does your child do when faced with a challenge? In this MINDCAP Brain Builders class, 5th-8th grade students will learn to identify, label, and employ cognitive functions, the building blocks of thinking, coupled with an understanding about the process of learning. Brain Builders students will be given the opportunity to develop skills and abilities in the following areas (and more):
Focus and Attention
Learning Processes
Social Interaction
Logic and Reasoning

Class Description:
1:1 sessions offered by Feuerstein certified mediators from The MINDCAP Center at Credo in the 26-27 schoolyear will be highly individualized 50 minute sessions held weekly for 24 weeks (12 weeks during 1st semester and 12 weeks during second semester).
The Feuerstein Approach used by MINDCAP mediators is a unique method that focuses on two key elements: the learning process and the mediation provided to an individual by a certified Feuerstein mediator.
The mediator analyzes the needs of a learner and selects appropriate materials and teaching methods with the aim of enabling the thinker to develop stronger learning and problem-solving skills which help activate and enhance the learner’s intelligence.
As MINDCAP mediators use a unique guided approach and Feuerstein’s Cognitive Enrichment program, the method and program serves as an intellectual and learning enhancement program for neurotypical individuals, as an enrichment program for the gifted, and as a corrective training program for people with learning or executive function challenges.
As an example, if a student has difficulties in math, the mediator will seek to address root causes cognitively to help close the gap between thinking skills and performance. Targeting root causes cognitively allows a mediator not only to help an individual improve in specific educational learning and problem-solving skills but also in countless other abilities through the transference of strengthened cognitive functioning.
Through this novel approach which expands openness to challenge by developing resilience, students’ attitudes to learning and development can easily be transformed from negative to positive while their outcomes as learners improve.
Note: Families who register for 1:1 MINDCAP Mediation Sessions for a learner may use ESA or Braintree funds to pay for their learner’s sessions.
*For 1-on-1 services with students, we’d like each learner wanting to use those time-slots to make a commitment for the entire year (two semesters) to set them up to get best results.
Cost: $2160 for 24 sessions
*There will be a 10% discount from our normal hourly fee applied because we are asking families to prepay for services up front. That will lower the cost to $2160 as opposed to the normal $2400 for 24 sessions. Any payment related questions from families should be routed to info@mind-cap.org
The $20 fee charged to reserve the 1:1 session spot covers administrative costs of Credo and does not apply toward the total owed for session fees.
Grades: all ages welcome
