26-27 History of Science (1 pm)
Cost: $120/per semester
Class Description:
By reading about the lives of great scientists and inventors and then doing experiments to learn about their discoveries and inventions, the student will grow in their curiosity. This course is designed to be an introduction to scientific study by introducing scientists, inventors, and others as well as scientific principles, laws, and theories. This literature-based class is a study of history and science combined, and would suit both the independent learner, and those families wishing to learn together through reading chapter books aloud at home.
Homework: Weekly homework will be assigned on Fridays. 2-3 hours of homework will be typical. A science portfolio will be created by the student as they work through the course.
This will be a graded course.
Grades: 5-8
