Cost: $120/semester plus $20 for Material Costs
Class Description:
This is a properly engaging and rigorous course. Students will gain an appreciation for our own language and become better writers in the process. Latin helps students to become more organized in their thought process and reasoning ability. Our goal will be to complete the first 12-13 lessons and additional studies and preparation to take the National Latin Exam as students in First Form Year II.
Quizzes and Tests: Students will be given practice quiz/test each week depending on schedule. Each of these are to be taken in pencil ONLY.
Homework should require 3-4 hours weekly
Grades will reflect the student's achievement through participation, recitations, classwork and homework as well as quizzes and tests.
Grades: 7-12
**This class is open to 7th and 8th graders with no prior experience. If you feel your student would benefit from a gentler start to Latin, Latina Christiana 1 is also open to 7th and 8th graders. If you have questions about which class would best suit your child, please contact the teacher for guidance.

*This class will go slightly longer in length. At this level of study, the extra 15 minutes is critical. This course is eligible for high school credit.
Required materials: *Memoria Press First Form Textbook including Workbook, Quizzes and Test
*Five Subject notebook. It should be kept organized. It will be graded for accuracy and neatness. Handouts for this course are to be kept in a folder (provided by me) unless the student is instructed to discard them.
All additional materials will be provided by the teacher. The material fee is $20 per year, and due on the first day of classes.
*All classwork and homework are to be done in pencil. Neatness is required.
