26-27 Latina Christiana 1
Cost: $120/semester plus one-time $20 materials fee
Class Description:
This is a fun and interactive course based primarily on Memoria Press’ Latina Christiana curriculum with supplementary materials. It is a wonderful way to build a solid foundation of the Latin language and prepare students for more rigorous studies in the future. The course plan is to finish the first 12-13 lessons/chapters of the book, building vocabulary and growing understanding daily with Meaning and Form, with timely unit reviews. We will be following the Latina Christiana's sequence.
Workbook and Homework will follow the above lesson outline.
Quizzes and Tests: Students will be given a practice quiz/test each Friday to be completed prior to next meeting. Each of these are to be taken in pencil ONLY.
Grades will reflect the student's achievement through participation, recitations, classwork and homework as well as quizzes and tests.
Grades: 3rd-8th
This class is open to 7th and 8th graders, if you feel your student would benefit from a gentler start to Latin. First Form Latin is also open to 7th and 8th grade students with no prior experience, but is a more academically rigorous course. If you have questions about which class would best suit your child, please contact the teacher for guidance.
Instructor: Elizabeth Wegmann
Time: 10:00-10:50am
Required materials: Latina Christiana Student Textbook & Latina Christiana Workbook
Five Subject Notebook: It should be kept organized. It will be graded for accuracy and neatness. Handouts for this course are to be kept in a folder (provided by me) unless the student is instructed to discard them.
