Middle & High School Art

$20.00

Cost: $120/semester

Class Description: The fine arts are an essential part of any well-rounded education. In this class, middle and high school students (grades 6-12) will engage in artistic projects that teach the basic techniques and concepts of two and three-dimensional art. Our goal is to make art fun and approachable for every student, regardless of artistic talent or previous experience.

Homework will be assigned on a fairly regular basis, as the only way one gets proficient at artistic skills is through practice. Homework assignments will typically take less than one hour per week to complete.

This class will be graded and available for high school credit. Parents will be given a percentage score for their students’ work at the end of each semester. Grades will be based on following directions, completing work in a timely manner, and the amount of apparent effort and detail the student put into their work. There won’t be any quizzes or tests.

This is a two-semester course, and new students are welcome to join the second semester.

Grades: 6th-12th graders

Instructors: Liz Richardson

Time: 1:00-1:50pm

Required materials: a list of necessary supplies will be included on the syllabus
