Elementary IEW Writing
Cost: $120/semester
Class Description:
The written word is a powerful tool for any student to develop. Teaching kids to write well can pose quite a challenge, but we’re here to help! Using IEW’s Ancient History Based Writing lessons curriculum, your student will learn to write in a variety of styles creatively and confidently.
Each week, students will be introduced to new skills and stylistic techniques, which they will then practice at home with assigned writing tasks.
The instructor will not be collecting or grading student work, but the curriculum comes with easy-to-use rubrics for evaluating student work at home.
This is a two-semester course, and will not be open for new students in the second semester, as the material builds upon itself.
Grades: 3rd-5th graders
Instructors: Liz Richardson
Time: 10:00-10:50am
Required materials: IEW 332383 student edition, pencil, notebook paper
Recommended but not required: IEW Fables Myths and Fairy Tales teacher edition
